Job Vacancy -Part-Time Parish Financial Administrator

The Parish Financial Administrator is a key staff position in support of the Parochial Church Council (PCC), responsible for ensuring the effective stewardship of the parish’s financial resources. The Financial Administrator supports the mission and ministry of the Church by maintaining accurate financial records, managing income and expenditure, and ensuring compliance with Church of England, Charity Commission, and legal requirements.

Essential Skills:

  • ·       Willing to be co-opted on to the PCC in the office of Parish Treasurer
  • ·       Experience of financial management, accounting, or bookkeeping.
  • ·       Good organisational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • ·       Ability to explain financial matters clearly to non-financial audiences.
  • ·       Integrity, reliability, and a commitment to confidentiality.
  • ·       Capability in using a wide variety of software packages, web interfaces, and social media platforms
  • ·       Supportive of the Christian ethos, mission, and practices of Lympstone Parish Church

Desirable Skills:

  • ·       Familiarity with charity finance and reporting requirements.
  • ·       Experience with accounting software or church finance systems.
  • ·       Understanding of the Church of England’s structures and practices.
This is a 10-hour per month paid position, on an initial 12 month fixed-term contract. Due to the nature of the role some flexibility in hours is required. Good communication, office skills, and IT proficiency are required. The postholder will work mostly from home. An Enhanced DBS check will be required for this position.
