Neighbourhood Plan – Letter from Working Group

Dear All,
FAO: Community Groups    24th March 2026
There are plans to build hundreds of new homes in or near our parish. We no longer
have any ability to protest this. However, we can still influence the layout, design
and impact of these developments. The only way we can do this is through a new
Neighbourhood Plan.
Based on responses and results from a first public consultation, draft policies for a
new neighbourhood plan have been drawn up and will soon be ready for the
community to view and comment on.
We are telling you this now because the policies will be available to view on
lympstone.org from the beginning of May and there will also be a second public
event held in the Meeting Room of the Village Hall from 10am to 4pm on Saturday
May 9th 2026.
Please come along and give us your feedback. Your input is important to our
Community.
Lympstone was proud to have been the first in East Devon to make a
Neighbourhood Plan in 2014 which set policies that shaped our community and
developments in it. However, it has reached its planned duration, which is why a new
one is being submitted.
