Programme of events
9.30 Road closed – between the Hairdressers and Chapel Road for the setting up of the pannier market
10.30 W.I at the Methodist Hall – open all day serving coffee, ploughman’s lunches, followed by tea and cakes
10.45 Boney Stone’s memorial football match – kicks off on the Cliff Field
11.00 Pannier Market opens
1st Punch and Judy Show (Methodist Hall forecourt) followed by 1st Magic Show (approx 11.30)
12.00 Fun Dog Show at Boat Shelter
12.30 The Band plays on the Green
13.00 Punch and Judy Show (Methodist Hall forecourt)
13.45 Fancy Dress Competition (judging on Cliff Field)
14.00 Road Closure from Saddlers Arms to Highcliffe No access to the car park until 16.00
15.00 Punch and Judy Show (Methodist Hall forecourt)
15.30 Furry Dance Starts – from the end of the Strand, dancers line up on the hill in sets of four, behind the Band.
15.45 Morris Dancers, Music and Magic Show
17.00 Dancers return to village centre – the Band leads the dancers along the Strand, terminating where it began.
The Raffle is drawn and Fancy Dress Dancer’s Cup awarded, concluding the proceedings.
18.00 Road closure ends.
So brush down your dog, prepare your fancy dress (why not resurrect your children’s book day costumes) and keep your fingers crossed for fine weather.
