Concert: Joel Munday

GIFTED YOUNG MUSICIANS: JOEL MUNDAY
The gifted young Devon violin player, Joel Munday, will be performing Bach’s Violin Concerto in A minor at Lympstone Parish Church on Saturday, 13th May. It forms part of a concert by East Devon’s popular ISCA Ensemble Chamber Orchestra, under its Music Director Roger Hendy. The programme also includes Elgar’s Serenade for Strings and Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante, which will feature the Bulgarian Viola player Vanessa Hristova.

Joel Munday is swiftly building a career as a soloist and chamber musician across Europe, America and Asia. He has won the Royal College of Music Concerto Prize, the Two Moors Festival Prize, and First Prize at the International Music Competition at Dobrich in Bulgaria. He has formed a string duo with Vanessa Hristova, who has also appeared as a soloist with several orchestras in the Albert Hall, the Royal Festival Hall, and some of the most famous concert halls of Europe. Together Joel and Vanessa will play the solo violin and viola parts in the Mozart Sinfonia Concertante. The orchestra will also play Handel’s Concerto Grosso no. 9 and Haydn’s Symphony no. 49 ‘La Passione’.
