History Society talk: The Geology, Landscape and Scenery of South East Devonshire

On Wednesday November 25, Professor Malcolm Hart will be giving an illustrated talk on
‘The Geology, Landscape and Scenery of South East Devonshire’
The geology of the area which includes rocks of Triassic to the Cretaceous age, between 250 and 86
million years ago, influences the landscape, a product of the changing climate, fluctuating sea levels and
the processes happening while northern Britain was being glaciated. Part of the area enjoys AONB status
and must be valued for both its scientific importance and enjoyment by a community that appreciates its
significance. Professor Hart will elaborate!
In the Methodist Hall, Chapel Road starting at 7.30pm and we look forward to seeing you all there.
