Lympstone Village Concert! (postponed from 29 February)

One of the highlights of the Lympstone calendar is the Village Concert, usually in February. Last year, of course, it was a victim of lockdown, but this year we had hoped that it would return to its regular spot. We’ve decided to postpone it, for just a month, when we hope that everybody will be more comfortable about gathering together in numbers, as the talented performers of the village take to the stage. The whole pleasure of the Concert is the atmosphere of community and togetherness, and we think that there is more chance of this being possible by the end of March. It will, of course, be run in accordance with the government advice in operation at the time – and no rules will be broken.
So please put this date in your diary. If you would like to take part, or help with front of house, please contact sheilastoneemail@gmail.com.
Some performers have already been rehearsing, and with an extra month their acts should be even more polished. It will be worth the wait!

After the success of TV programme The Crown, the Royal Family has decided to go on a tour of their realm to exploit their new-found popularity. You will be thrilled to know that the Queen and Prince Phillip, and Charles and Anne (Harry and Meghan can’t make it) will be appearing in the Village Hall on the extra day we have been graciously granted this year, 29th February, from 7.30pm.

Happily this coincides with their subjects’ annual village concert, and so you will also be treated to songs and humour and conjuring and other revelry on the same occasion.  One new performer will be singing some lusty music hall songs, and artistes from the recent pantomime will be injecting their won we”-remembered kind of comedy.  To Crown it all, the WI will be celebrating 100 years in Lympstone with a much-loved song.

It should be a right Royal do, so rush to make sure of your tickets from Demelza, 2 Brookfield Cottages.  Tel: 272243, or boxoffice@lympstone-entertainments.net
