SW Comms Band at the ‘Classics Galore’ Concert
The programme for this year’s gala concert promises to be the best ever and will feature a mixture of popular classics, music from films and musicals such as Dambusters March, Hallelujah Chorus, Live and Let Die, extracts from Les Misérables –truly something for everyone. The evening will end with a rousing Last Night of the Proms style finale, led by soprano soloist Penny Daw. There will be up to 200 musicians and singers – a full orchestra, two choral societies and a brass band.
Musical director Malcolm Matthews will conduct the concert with an orchestra featuring top musicians from across Devon, plus singers from Ottery St Mary Choral Society and Exeter’s St David’s Players as well as the SW Comms Band from Lympstone under its new musical director Chris Spreadbury.
