Walking for Connie

Walking for Connie

Walking for Connie Fund – ‘Auction of Promises’ night on Saturday 14th July at 7.30pm, Lympstone Village Hall

Tickets £5 available from the post office or direct from Lucy McCance on 263237 to include a glass of wine, cheese platter, entertainment and the chance to win some wonderful auction lots.

I am starting a fund to try to raise money to pay for an operation and aftercare for my daughter Connie. Connie needs to have this operation within the next year before her legs become deformed. The operation will give her the opportunity to walk. She has been recommended for this by her paediatrician, and the consultant at Frenchay Hospital in Bristol who would be performing the procedure. Here is some more information about it:

Unfortunately the small window for Connie to have this has clashed with the funding crisis in the NHS and although we are going through the various channels to try and get the powers that be in the NHS to agree to the operation being funded by them, I have decided to raise the money myself before its too late. It costs £37,500, and we have already raised over £20,000.

I have already had overwhelming support from various individuals and companies so that lots include signed sporting memorabilia, local paintings and photos, meals, days out, money-can’t-buy experiences and much more…. It should be an unforgettable night and if we can raise money to help Connie walk it will be wonderful!

The fund is part of a registered charity (No. 1043092) and I have a JustGiving account up and running for donations – www.justgiving.com/walkingforConnie

If you can donate an auction lot or have links with a company who might, please contact me – I’d really appreciate it.
