This year’s Lympstone Furry Dance and Fete will take place on Saturday 4th August. A full afternoon of family entertainment will be on offer at Candy’s Field from 1pm, where the fete includes performances by Kagemusha Taiko Drummers and the Lympstone Band plus a fun dog show and lots of stalls and other attractions.
After the grand prize draw get dressed up for the fancy dress competition. Then on into the evening where everyone can join in and follow the Furry Dance from the Globe down to the Saddlers and back. The Sidmouth Steppers will keep you dancing outside the Swan and once the Furry Dance returns the Lympstone Band will take the floor. The grand finale will be fireworks over the village harbour. Full timings are in the Furry Dance programme available in the village shops and pubs.
Please note the main village road will be closed from 6pm to midnight on Furry Dance Day meaning vehicles will not be able to enter or leave the lower part of Lympstone during the closure. The ‘road closed’ signs will be clearly displayed and the Friends of the Furry Dance will be grateful for your co-operation for this special annual event.
