Courtland plans given green light

A scheme by a Devon Celebrity chef to transform a Grade II country house into a hotel and restaurant has been given the green light.

Planners have approved Michael Caines proposals to transform 28 acres Courtlands in Lympstone into a 21 bedroom luxury hotel.

A statement from East Devon District Council said: “A planning application to restore and extend a Grade II Georgian mansion house near Exmouth into a 21 bedroom luxury country house hotel has been approved by East Devon District Council’s Development Management Committee today.

Michelin Star Chef Michael Caines applied for the renovation, restoration and extension of Courtlands House from a wedding venue into a hotel and fine dining restaurant.
