EDDC withdrawing the recycling bank facilities from Lympstone Village Hall

EDDC will be withdrawing the recycling bank facilities from Lympstone Village Hall from week commencing 27th August 2018.

East Devon District Councils Recycling Board has decided to withdraw the facilities from all sites across the district from Summer 2018. The withdrawal follows successful trial removals in Sidmouth, Seaton and Exmouth in the early part of 2018.

Following the successful launch of our enhanced kerbside recycling service last year, our residents are recycling much more at home.  This has led to us reviewing the necessity of recycling bring sites for domestic recycling. The recycling skips are now getting old and since the new service began, people are using the facilities less and less.

Posters have been placed at the site (here) to inform service users and will deal with any queries that come from this.

It may be that some residents call us for additional recycling containers as they may not be using the kerbside service as much as they are able to. Residents will also be reminded of the option to take materials to the Recycling Centres if they prefer.

Please note this does not affect the three Devon County Council recycling centres in Sidmouth, Sutton Barton or Exmouth. They will continue to operate as normal.
