Lympstone School Champions!

Lympstone School Champions!

Champions!  Congratulations to the school swimming team, which recently won the area gala against fourteen local schools. Well done to Emily Masters, Millie Adams, Agnes Laney-Hubbard, Fern Acheson, Sid Fereday, Jack Hope, Sam Arkinstall, Harry Bainbridge and Coach Belinda Mahoney.

This month also featured a wonderful instrumental recital where children performed on piano, clarinet, saxaphone, flute and guitar. Credit to our music teachers, Gerald Smith, Nigel Challis and Jane Hepple.

It was a pleasure to again welcome our Community Police Officer into school to security mark children’s bicycles. Particularly useful, I think, in the light of one or two recent petty thefts in our village.

Numbers of children continue to grow, we now have 175 pupils. Whilst it is good to be such a popular and thriving village school, this does put pressure on our organisation in terms of class sizes and space, an issue that governors are looking into as a matter of urgency.
