The Methodist Hall in Lower Lympstone is “on the market”. Following a Public Meeting held in December to establish support for this much valued community facility, the unanimous decision was to pursue means to purchase it. To this end a second, packed hall of interested Lympstonians met at the Village Hall on Wednesday 12 January, and agreed to establish a Friends of the Methodist Hall Group to take matters forward.
The Hall is registered as a Community Asset which enables a short space of time to mount a fund raising effort prior to the Hall going on the wider open market at the end of March. The Parish Council and other interested parties are already looking at funding and income mechanisms to ensure the future security of the Hall for village use. However some of the purchase funds will need to be raised by the wider Lympstone Community to ensure that the village has the use of this valuable community asset.
