East Devon District Council are undertaking an “open space, outdoor recreation and sports facilities study”. The purpose of the study is to find out what type of open space, outdoor recreation and sports facilities are required to meet the needs of local people. Open spaces include things like playing fields, formal gardens, play areas, acilities for young people, facilities for the eldery, countyside and wildlife areas, footpaths, cycleways, allotments, village greens and town squares etc. Quite a list! This information is required as a basis for local planning policies and standards as well as providing information on desired improvements.
